The 42nd Annual GMA Dove Awards was held on Wednesday, April 20, 2010 at Atlanta’s historic Fox Theatre and will be televised nationwide on GMC (http://www.watchgmc.com), Easter Sunday, April 24, 2011 from 7-9p.m. EST. This year marked the first time the show has taken place outside Nashville in 40 years.

The celebrated “Our God,” written by label mate Matt Redman, Jonas Myrin, Chris Tomlin and Jesse Reeves, was honored in the “Worship Song of the Year” category. The song is found on both the double-nominated i live album and Tomlin’s November release ofAnd If Our God Is For Us…, A powerful performance of “Our God” performed by Tomlin, Christy Nockels and Kristian Stanfill opened the show. “Our God” is currently No. 16 on the CCLI chart.
In addition to being recognized at this year’s GMA Dove Awards, Tomlin is also up for three Billboard Music Awards in all of their Christian music categories including “Top Christian Artist,” “Top Christian Song” for “Our God” and Top Christian Album.” Tomlin recently wrapped the And If Our God Is For Us... spring tour with many sold out dates across the U.S.
David Crowder*Band’s much buzzed about music video for “SMS (Shine)” nabbed the “Short Form Video of the Year” award. The video composed of over 700,000 LITE BRITE ® Pegs was recently nominated at the LA Film Festival, and has been featured on The Today Show, Fox & Friends, etc. “SMS (Shine)” currently has over 1 million views on YouTube.
